Why hasn't this been made into a feature film yet? Good question. THE CANDIDATE was originally released in 2010 with a high pedigree behind it. Produced by Marcus Dunstan, it was written by the team of Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (FEAST [all], SAW IV [V, VI, 3D], THE COLLECTOR, PIRANHA 3DD), Directed by their friend, David Karlak (VFX Artist: FEAST, THE COLLECTOR), and starred & cameo'd by their friends, the brothers Gulager -Tom Gulager (FEAST II, III, DARK HOUSE, THE COLLECTOR) as Gunzer, John Gulager (FEAST [all]), as the Man in the Elevator - and Robert Picardo (THE HOWLING, TOTAL RECALL, GREMLINS 2, STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT). It also has the kind of polish that ultra high end equipment can bring. THE CANDIDATE was shot on Arriflex 435, Panavision Primo Lenses, Panavision Panaflex Gold II, Panavision Primo Lenses, and given a last minute detail shine at FotoKem Laboratory. The budget on this was not small. After 2010 and a few less-than-fortunate feature films in a row, things kind of came to a stop for everyone lately, so in 2015 they made the short film RISE, with Anton Yelchin. I happened across THE CANDIDATE only days after its October 16, 2016 release to YouTube. This is a brilliant movie and looks considerably more promising than their features that came after. I'm hoping someone will step forward and help these folks make THE CANDIDATE happen. There are more movies at the Feo Amante Theater. Go to NOW SHOWING! Page Copyright 2016 E.C.McMullen Jr.
