GO WITH THE FLOW - 2002
By Queens of the Stone Age
Video directed by Shynola.
It took a damn long time, over 13 years, but I finally have a decent quality audio and video (not great, but decent) version of this excellent song and video.
I first picked up on Queens of the Stone Age through the soundtrack to HEAVY METAL 2000. Their song, INFINITY gets way more play than the rest of that album.
Then in 2002 they released their album, SONGS FOR THE DEAF, and the album is sweet all the way through, but sure enough, Go With The Flow is all that.
Then this video came out and that was it: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE were a permanent part of my rotation.
They've since released plenty of good albums, but nothing grabs me like Songs For The Deaf.
The backstory with the 4 person (at that time) directing group known as Shynola is an interesting read once posted at CG Society, now only found at Archive.org.
GO WITH THE FLOW
She said "I'll throw myself away. They're just photos after all."
I can't make you hang around. I can't wash you off my skin
Outside the frame, is what we're leaving out
You won't remember anyway
I can go with the flow
But don't say it doesn't matter anymore
I can go with the flow
Do you believe it in your head?
It's so safe to play around
Little soldiers in a row
Falling in and out of love
Is something sweet to throw away
But I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live
I want a new mistake, lose is more than hesitate
Do you believe it in your head?
I can go with the flow
But don't say it doesn't matter anymore
I can go with the flow
Do you believe it in your head?
