DECEMBER DEC. 15 From Sue Howison Dark Delicacies is at MICHAEL'S HAPPY NEW YEAR As many of you know, my short story ANXIETY is currently being filmed as a feature film by Burning Grounds Independent Media. The process of the making of the film is being documented on the MySpace/ANXIETY page. As well, I am currently serializing the short story the film is based on at MySpace. There's a brand new audio interview (conducted by Cat at Creepycast) posted as a podcast. It's also available for download at iTunes. As well, my novel DEAD SOULS is coming. Soon. Next month it should start popping up on shelves around the 25th of the month. I am very excited about this book, and the whirlwind that will follow upon its release. I'm already booked at four conventions, and plan some book signings in the New York area. It's gonna be a great year, with the release of DEAD SOULS, plus the ultimate release of the film ANXIETY. Plus, there are a lot of other projects in the works, including a new short story collection (details to follow), and a new novel. There will also be a couple of contests to ring in the release of DEAD SOULS, so keep it here for details. HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -

Yes, Post Halloween gloom affects a lot of Horror Thriller writers. It's kind of hard to kick start the scares when yer in line at the bank or mall and hearing the Manhatten Transfer rape the 12 Days Of Christmas for the 37th time. That's why you have me, and this is what I have for you! Horror Thriller story ideas! These Horror Thriller story ideas are time tested sure-fire hits. Their beauty lies in the fact that every editor and movie studio will swear up and down that they don't want them, then go on to publish or produce at least 15 of them in the coming year! So let's all lap up the final dregs of gravy at the bottom of the train and bid another Horror Thriller phase goodbye. HAPPY HORROR

DEC. 12
Hey! How would you like to be a "Somebody"? Well actually, everybody is SOMEBODY, but few are well known somebodies. The media would have you believe that it is difficult as hell to be a well known somebody, but actually it's quite easy. For example, take Conrad Hilton. The man struggled throughout much of his life trying to make it big. He tried and failed on through his 20s, then his 30s, then his 40s. His wife finally left his ass because he dreamed and flopped on such a grand scale. But Conrad finally made his dreams come true and created the Hilton Hotel chain. Then he blew all his hard work by introducing Zha Zha Gabor into his gene pool. This bad move eventually begat the most famous trickle-down Hilton of all! His grandaughter Paris; who didn't have to do anything to be famous other than be a wealthy white-owl smokin' dim-witted trainwreck of a drunk. But you don't have to be wealthy! Charles Bukowski was a raving homeless drunk whose days consisted of living in alleys in San Pedro, California and shouting at passing cars. Then some editor got ahold of his ravings and saw more there than Charlie did (she saw money - Charlie merely saw his genius). She published his butt and took him to parties where he threw up on glitteratti (for a Hollywood insight into his life, see the Mickey Rourke film, BARFLY. For a TRUE insight, check out his bio by his pal, Ben Pleasents, When Bukowski Was A Nazi). While Chuckie was barking at ants, the affluent intelligentsia were going through their "Decadent" period, and bling! Charlie was famous, stupid, and drunk - and a model for self-important youth everywhere! Wouldn't you love to have such a life of wealth and fame? Well Tina Jens is ready to be your publisher! She wants to take you to the next level - which is getting published (substance abuse optional). Check out these guidelines!

DEC. 11 HORROR THRILLER UNLEASHED MASTERS OF HORROR: Fair Haired Child. William Malone (SCARED TO DEATH, CREATURE, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, FEARDOTCOM) gets his contribution to the Showtime series in the final episode of Season One. UKM: The Ultimate Killing Machine. Fans of Michael Madsen (WAR GAMES, SPECIES, SPECIES II, KILL BILL [both], SIN CITY, SCARY MOVIE 4) have another chance to enjoy "The Cool". Michael plays a prisoner who volunteers for medical experiments to shorten his prison sentence. But by volunteering, he may have just shortened his life. NIGHT TRAIN. The hard core classic Mystery Thriller from Poland finally comes to DVD. Made in 1959, the movie has become something of a legend. Now you'll have the chance to see why. PRESAGIO is a 1975 Thriller Mystery film from Mexico charting the fall of a close-knit town after intolerance, hatred, guilt, and defeatism destroys the village's ability to endure.
DEC. 8 QUICK BITE From The Independent in the UK A MILLION MASTERS BURBANK, CA –Anchor Bay Entertainment, a division of Starz Home Entertainment and the acknowledged leader in horror DVD programming, announces the recent milestone of shipping one million units of the Emmy™-Award winning Masters of Horror anthology series. The announcement comes on the heels of the final DVD release from Season One – William Malone’s "Fair Haired Child" debuting December 12th. The innovative, thirteen-installment series has taken the horror genre to new creative and commercial heights. Available on DVD since March, each one-hour Masters of Horror film elevates the genre to a new standard in terror, written and directed by many of the genre’s leading practitioners. The executive producers of Masters Of Horror are Starz Media’s John W. Hyde, Industry Entertainment’s Keith Addis and Andrew Deane, and Nice Guy Productions’ Mick Garris. Reunion Pictures’ Lisa Richardson and Tom Rowe are also producers. Industry’s Adam Goldworm and Ben Browning are co-producers. "I’m thrilled to see that Masters of Horror is filling the appetite the fans have for original horror, made by people who love and know it best," said Mick Garris, series creator and Executive Producer. "We hoped that if we could present the horror audience with films that were free of studio and network intervention, that we could provide them a great variety of fear in all its forms, they would respond. And it seems to be working, all around the world." Horror is way too popular to keep religion out of it. So let's have some. Organized Religion™ has a lousy track record when it comes to making Horror movies (THE OMEGA CODE anyone?), and you'd think they'd be great at it. Afterall, Organanized Religion™ is well known for their Haunted Houses every October. Ted Dekker, however, is a best selling Christian writer and his book THR3E (amazingly similar in plot to SE7EN), is getting theater time this January 5th, thanks to a tiny new division of 20th Century Fox, FOXFaith. When a young seminary student is targeted by a psychopathic killer, he joins forces with a criminal psychologist whose brother was murdered by the same madman. Together they must unravel the killer's riddles and catch him before he strikes again, but the closer they get, the more twisted the path becomes. This heart-pounding thriller will keep you guessing up until the final shocking scene! Based on the best-selling novel by Ted Dekker. The movie is directed by Robbie Henson (THE VISITATION), the screenplay is by Alan B. McElroy (HALLOWEEN 4, SPAWN, WRONG TURN), and Ralph Winter (THE PUPPET MASTERS, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG [1998], XMEN [ALL], PLANET OF THE APES [2001], HANGMAN'S CURSE) is producing. THR3E also stars Horror Fan FaeVoReet, Bill Mosely (THE BLOB [1988], ARMY OF DARKNESS, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS). So there's a certain Horror pedigree at work here. Visit writer Ted Dekker. WORST KEPT SECRET EVER (FeoNote: Long time visitors will recognize the name of Feo alumni, Brian Keene [ See our Brian Keene page]. Though Keene's mass market paperback books sell modestly, in the inner circles of limited edition Horror fans, he's becoming something of an underground legend: A Horror Writer that OTHER Horror writers love to read - and collect. Yesterday, Delirium Books publisher, Shane Ryan Staley made an announcement of something so rare for limited editions that it might even be a record) How can a book sell out before it's even announced. I'm still scratching my head at this one. The only way I can answer this question is with this: The power of Keene. The demand for the book was so high that customers were requesting it, booksellers were increasing standing orders for it, and it was an all-out frenzy before the book even went up for announcement. Officially, the book sold out in -6 days, yes that's negative 6 days. Or, 6 days before official announcement. So GHOUL will be announced now instead and it's officially sold out from Delirium Books. If you haven't secured a copy, RUSH to your favorite independent bookseller and snatch a copy now. For Delirium HC Subscribers, you can relax, as I've already secured your copy, as this title is covered under the subscription. If you aren't a hardcover subscriber and you'd like to be one, please visit the HC Subscription Page. Subscribers will be guaranteed all new Keene titles under this plan (and there are a lot of them planned for this year). And as of right now, Delirium has more than 90 subscribers to the HC series, which is a BIG chunk of any print run. Here's more about this book: From award-winning author Brian Keene comes a terrifying coming-of-age novel. June 1984. Timmy Graco is looking forward to summer vacation, taking it easy and hanging out with his buddies. Instead, his summer will be filled with terror in a life and death battle against a nightmarish creature that few believe even exists. Timmy has learned that the person who's been unearthing graves in the cemetery isn't a person at all. It's a thing. And it's hungry. And now it's after Timmy and his friends. Brian Keene's GHOUL. Nothing lasts forever ...except evil. The man who created KING KONG in his first re-incarnation. Thankfully for him - and us - he has gone farther and done much better with his career. He holds the distinction of being the first make-up artist to win an Oscar, and what's more: if Horror movies have caused you nightmares, his creations were likely the stars in your dreams. I'm talking about Make-up Artist Rick Baker (IT'S ALIVE, SQUIRM, KING KONG [1976], THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN, THE FURY, THE HOWLING, THE FUNHOUSE, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, VIDEODROME, WOLF, ED WOOD, THE FRIGHTENERS, MEN IN BLACK, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG [1998], PLANET OF THE APES [2001], MEN IN BLACK II, THE RING, HELLBOY, CURSED, THE RING II, and way more) who is 55. Actor David Carradine (THE RAGE, LIGHT SPEED, SUBLET, CHILDREN OF THE CORN V, PUZZLE IN THE AIR, ZOO, KNOCKING ON DEATH'S DOOR, NATURAL SELECTION, KILL BILL VOL. 1, DEAD & BREAKFAST, KILL BILL VOL. 2, THE LAST SECT) is 70. Carradine will star in 2007's FALL DOWN DEAD. I will kiss the (properly cleaned) boot of any woman who can surpass today's birthday girl in the realm of Camp movie careers. She is the Queen of Camp! Her photo should be in the dictionary! Happy Birthday to Actor Mary Woronov (KEMEK, SUGAR COOKIES, "SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT", SEIZURE, DEATH RACE 2000, JACKSON COUNTY JAIL, EATING RAOUL, NIGHT OF THE COMET, THE MOVIE HOUSE MASSACRE, HELLHOLE, TERRORVISION, CHOPPING MALL, WARLOCK, THE HALFWAY HOUSE, FROG-G-G!, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, and far more) is 63.
DEC. 7 I hear people say, "Whatever happened to actor C. Thomas Howell?" and they mean it in one of two ways. For the ones who wonder if he fell off of the map, I have to tell you that he's made over 25 movies in just the last five years of the new millennium. Granted they were nearly all B movies (Howell won't be winning any Oscars soon), but the man keeps busy. For the ones who have seen him and wonder why he aged so fast, according to imdb.com, Howell suffered from a ruptured appendix in 2003 which nearly cost him his life. He was hospitalized for four weeks in a year that still saw him make three movies! What's more, since 2000, Chris (his first name) has turned his career toward Horror Thrillers. So Happy Birthday to Actor C. Thomas Howell (THE HITCHER, TREACHEROUS, DARK REFLECTION, PAYBACK, KINDRED: THE EMBRACED [TV], PURE DANGER, ASYLUM DAYS, NURSIE, NET GAMES, THE HITCHER II, THE LOST ANGEL, THE HILLSIDE STRANGLER, A KILLER WITHIN, H.G. WELL'S WAR OF THE WORLDS, GLASS TRAP and more) who is 40. Howell has made over two movies for every year of his life.
DEC. 6 HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -In film, today's birthday boy is a Special Effects Maestro! Happy Birthday to Visual Effects Artist Richard Edlund (THE MANITOU, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, POLTERGEIST, GHOSTBUSTERS, FRIGHT NIGHT, POLTERGEIST II, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, THE MONSTER SQUAD, GHOST, ALIEN3, SPECIES, THE STEPFORD WIVES [2004]) who is 66. Richard's upcoming film, ANAMORPH, is scheduled for a 2007 release.
DEC. 5 QUICK BITE From Angela Quan The official website for HELLSING ULTIMATE OVA SERIES is live and running at: hellsingultimate.com. In the U.S., Tuesday is DVD release day. Here are the movies getting out on DVD today. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST. Disney goes all out on their favorite franchise by firing two DVDs at once. PULSE. Still another American remake of a Japanese movie. Gad! For decades we American audiences have been getting and adoring actual Chinese movies just fine! Shit, we've been making US blockbuster hits out of even the subtitled movies. So what the hell is Hollywood's deal with having to make American versions of Japanese Horror Thriller movies? BLACK CHRISTMAS: Special Edition. Now you are going to see what the fuss is all about. The original BLACK CHRISTMAS is the Mother of all Slasher films, setting the bar for all that came later. While there were certainly slasher films prior to 1974, none got the wide (though limited run) release of BLACK CHRISTMAS or have been so influential. 2 DVDs. SHADES OF DARKNESS. From PBS, "Mystery" comes this 2 DVD set of Horror Mystery thrillers. PBS at its most wicked. HAPPY TREE FRIENDS Season One TV: Vol. 1. Most Horror Thriller fans know of this sickeningly cute yet disgustingly vile collection of gross-out animation featuring darling little cartoon animals. Happy Tree Friends is the perpetual motion of sick genius. CHARLIE CHAN COLLECTION Vol. 2. Though Detective Chan was played by an Occidental instead of an Oriental, Charlie was never played for a fool. Despite his broken English (as played by Warner Oland), Charlie was intelligent, quiet, and cunning while remaining most human, instead of inhumanely wise. Based on the novels of Earl Derr Biggers. HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -
DEC. 4
As to be expected, November didn't rank as high for feoamante.com, in visitors, as October. Since we're all Horror Thriller fans, that's hardly suprising, right? October is our month! November gave us a drop of about 12,000 visits, bringing the month's total to 106,716 actual visitors. As usual, a little over 50% of you were unique visitors. Despite the drop, oddly enough, sales through feoamante.com affiliates increased: for which I thank you all greatly. Beyond the homepage and the Movie page, TOP TEN SCARY MOVIES got the most attention, again. Top Ten Scary Movies has rose past The RACIAL CLICHÉ ALERT and the SCIENCE MOMENT to become the most viewed specialty section of the website. The Fanboy Comics section has also remained in the top five for the second month in a row. If that's yall's way of telling me that you want to see more in Horror comics, Aye, Aye, ya dirty bilge rats! I'm reading you loud and clear. I covered the After Dark Horrorfest, which, as I suspected, was pretty good overall. Some movies were better than others, of course, but I'm sure many people came away with favorites that were different from mine. The second scariest month in the year has got to be December. Freaky stuff happens during the holiday season in many a piece of fiction, and we'll be covering it here. "There'll be scary ghost stories..." If you haven's done so yet, check out the latest trailer from iFilms on this page, BLACK CHRISTMAS (2006). The remake opens on Christmas Day. To get a taste of the Bob Clark original (Bob also directed the perennial holiday favorite, A Christmas Story), check out Mike Oliveri's review of the first - and inspiration for John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN - BLACK CHRISTMAS. QUICK BITES Check out the Vault of Horror! ALSO People keep writing in that our UNFAIR RACIAL CLICHÉ ALERT is hogwash. It's bullshit. It doesn't exist! How COULD it exist? Just look at the progressive make-up of Hollywood! That may be the point. People are looking, and this is the result: LA Daily News article. Study: Whites Get Majority Of Acting Jobs Horror Writer and feoamante.com contributor Harry Shannon (BAD SEED, NIGHT OF THE BEAST, NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF, THE PRESSURE OF DARKNESS) is 58! 2007 should see the release of Harry's new movie, DEAD AND GONE. Harry Shannon was a pal before he became a MySpace friend. Check him out at MySpace.com/HarryShannon. And On Sunday - This birthday girl's classic features get her work in glitter literatti movies, but she appears to hanker for Horror Thriller as evidenced by the largest body of her work (and her current filming schedule affirms that). Happy Birthday to Actor Julianne Moore (sLAUGHTERHOUSE II, TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, CAST A DEADLY SPELL, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE, BODY OF EVIDENCE, THE FUGITIVE, SAFE, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK, PSYCHO [1998], HANNIBAL, EVOLUTION, THE FORGOTTEN, FREEDOMLAND, CHILDREN OF MEN) who is 46. Watch for Moore's upcoming SF/Thriller for 2007, NEXT. Fear not, metal fans. His real name is not Ozzy so his birth name was never Oswald. Happy Birthday to Musician Ozzy Osbourne (band BLACK SABBATH: Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath. OZZY: Blizzard of Ozz, Ultimate Sin. Actor: TRICK OR TREAT) is 56. And on Saturday - Actor Lucy Lui (CITY OF INDUSTRY, FLYPAPER, PAYBACK, TRUE CRIME, BALLISTIC: Ecks vs. Sever, CYPHER, KILL BILL: Vol. 1, KILL BILL Vol. 2) is 37. Horror writer Ray Garton (ALL THAT GLITTERS [Sabrina the Teenage Witch Series #12], SEX AND VIOLENCE IN HOLLYWOOD).
DEC. 1 SIMON'S DOMINION I've just completed a short film entitled A CHILD'S DOMINION to accompany the release of DEATH'S DOMINION. A CHILD'S DOMINION looks back to the time when our childhood imaginations were so potent that often reality and fantasy overlapped, and the ghosts and monsters we invented sometimes became, just for a few moments, as real as trees, houses and the grumpy mathematics teacher on a Monday morning. I filmed the piece at my old school in the village of Badsworth, Yorkshire. Conveniently for me, as a lover of ghost stories back then, we kids had to reach the school by walking (or running) through a graveyard. The film has a touch of cosmic (even comic) horror in the vein of HP Lovecraft. To watch, simply hit the link: IT'S ONLY TEENAGE WEREWOLVES You just can't keep dogs and kids apart, can you? BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE is co-written and produced by Horror movie writer, Ehren Kruger (SCREAM 3, IMPOSTOR, THE RING, THE RING 2, THE SKELETON KEY, THE BROTHERS GRIMM), and starring Agnes Bruckner (GLASS HOUSE), the film is slated for a January 26, 2007 release. ALERT: The MASTERS OF HORROR version of “Pelts,” directed by Dario Argento and starring Meat Loaf (THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, FIGHT CLUB) and John Saxon (BLACK CHRISTMAS, A NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN), premieres December 1 on Showtime at 10 pm EST. It will air numerous times the following week thru the 7th. As I’ve noted elsewhere: Not for the prudish or faint of heart. Nov. 1 - The offer on the table from Del Rey for the METAL GEAR SOLID novel is too low to even consider. (Yikes! I split an infinitive!) Out of respect for Hideo Kojima I was willing to take considerably less than my usual to write the tie-in, but I can’t justify taking this much less. Kojima himself has little or no say in this. Nov. 10 - Brian Keene emails me about a benefit anthology. I can’t offer anything new, but I send him “Performance,” which has never been reprinted and won’t be in my next collection. I tell him this is a good thing he’s doing. He promises to do something stupid soon to balance it out. Nov. 15 - After 2 weeks of rewriting I finish tuning up the second draft of BLOODLINE and send it out to my screening readers. They all know I encourage them to tear it apart if need be, and that they can’t hurt my feelings. The only way to temper steel is to put it through the fire. Nov. 17 - News from Keene that the benefit anthology is off – the intended beneficiary found out about the project and put the kibosh on it. Ah, well, our intentions were good. Nov. 21 - An audio interview (hosted by Tom Monteleone) goes live on The Horror Channel. See “Skull Sessions” on the home page. (You might have to turn off the annoying background audio to hear the interview) Nov. 25 – The insanely great Harry Morris sends me 3 possible covers for the Gauntlet edition of BLOODLINE. They’re all fabulous. I make some suggestions, he tweaks one of them, and – voila! – we have a cover. Nov. 28 – An email from Kojima today apologizing for the “humiliating” offer from Del Rey for the METAL GEAR SOLID novel. I tell him I didn’t feel humiliated and not to give it another thought. We’ll find something else down the road to work on together. FeoNote: And that wraps up F. Paul Wilson's life for November, 2006. Actually, that's not true. A lot more happened, but if you cared you'd already be subscribed (for free) to The F File. Perhaps you'd really like that, eh? So go, who's stopping you? Leave my site and visit F. Paul Wilson at RepairmanJack.com. Go on! Break my heart! HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO - Writer, Musician, and Feo Amante Alumni, Ryan Harding (PARTNERS IN CHYME w/Ed Lee, Music: YKOF) who is 28. For a taste of Ryan's work, read his Horror tale, BOTTOM FEEDER. Ryan is an old friend and a new MySpace friend. Visit him at MySpace.com/ChaosDomination. Writer Gina Osnovich (SCARS) is 29. Gina is an old pal and a new MySpace friend. Visit her at MySpace.com/GinaOsnovich. Actor Treat Williams (FLASHPOINT, ECHOES IN THE DARKNESS, DEAD HEAT, VAULT OF HORROR I, IN THE SHADOW OF EVIL, MULHOLLAND FALLS, DEEP RISING, THE CIRCLE, SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET, VENOMOUS and more) is 54. Treat's upcoming Thriller Mystery film, THE HIDEOUT, should be released in 2007.
