405: The Movie- 2000By Bruce Branit and Jeremy Hunt |
|
What's that video where a guy is in a truck or an SUV, and he's driving down the highway and a plane or jet lands on him?
That would be 405, a short film calling card for SFX artists, Bruce Branit and Jeremy Hunt.
It's nothing short of amazing that the cgi on a home computer from 17 years ago stands up so well today.
According to Average Joe Weekly,
"We aren't talking about some big company with hundreds of employees and thousands of dollars, we are talking about two guys, $300 and self-taught skills, and home personal computers. No SGI's (Silicon Graphics, the once de facto computer for High-performance computer and visual effects), no Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), just a Canon Optura digital video camera, Pentium II and Pentium III computers with LightWave 3D, Digital Fusion, and Adobe Premiere."
Bruce Branit (SERENITY, KING KONG, FRINGE [TV], WESTWORLD [TV], FALLOUT [TV]) and Jeremy Hunt (300, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL [2008]) have their own Wikipedia page!
As well as their own website, 405themovie.
